This beautiful Manuel Mendoza wedding gown is incredibly flattering and elegant. Its purchase was the best wedding decision I made and I am very sad at the thought of parting with it. I hope to sell the dress to a beautiful bride who can also enjoy it and be stunning on her wedding day.
The dress has a fitted bodice which is covered with ivory Alencon lace (re-embroidered lace) and it has a slightly dropped waist. The dress has a slight sweetheart neckline. The skirt is made of layers and layers of tulle. Although the skirt is full, the dress is not heavy at all when worn. On the back, there is a row of delicate, silk covered buttons stopping at a single silk bow. Silk bows line the back of the skirt and there is a single ribbon that accentuates the waist in the front. The buttons and ribbons are all in soft, pale pink which gives the dress an incredibly romantic feeling with the ivory lace and tulle. The skirt can be bustled and there is another short ivory skirt for the reception. I chose to have the dress made into two pieces because I wanted to still wear part of my wedding dress, yet still enjoy myself and dance the night away. The shorter silk skirt comes with a huge bow sash. Everything was immediately dry cleaned and it is now in a heirloom box.
The dress is very similar to the Elle dress from Monique Lhuiller. I chose to get mine custom made because if gave me flexibility if I wanted to make design changes like have a choice of two skirts: long for the ceremony and short for the reception.
At the time, I was a street size 8 and if you need to get it taken in I can recommend a great seamstress. I am 5'3" and I wore 4 inch heels. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you need additional pictures.
