Where do I seat my guests? Wedding Ceremony Traditions & Etiquette
The Traditions and Etiquette for your wedding will sometimes be informed by your culture or sometimes just by what you want - you are the star of course! However, there are a few things to keep in mind when planning your wedding, for both the ceremony and your reception. Below are a few tips and tricks to keep in mind when planning your ceremony. (We'll cover reception tips and tricks in a later post)

Where do I seat my guests?
Your religious background will often determine where your guests will be seated; for example in a traditional Christian ceremony guests of the Bride will sit on the left side of the church and groom's guests will sit on the right. In Jewish Ceremony the guests of the Bride will sit on the right and the groom's guests on the left. If you are going with a non-denominational service, our suggestion is to mix your guests up. With your union you are becoming one family, why wait until the reception to start?
Processional/Recessional: Livin’ it up or status quo?
You have all seen the YouTube sensation of the couple dancing down the aisle for the wedding entrance, right?
This can be a fun way to start your wedding and it can also give your guests an idea of how the rest of the event will progress. However, keep in mind that if you are having a Traditional Denominational wedding there may be rules as to how you must enter a place of worship as well as what type of music may be used.
Until next time, happy planning
