Q. Why is there such a range in the price of invitations? For example, I can get 150 invites online for $150 vs. local designers quoting anywhere from $5 and up, per set.
This is a tough question, and one I get frequently asked. My best advice? Remember, your invitations set the tone for your wedding. From the moment your guests open up the envelope they will already have an idea of what your wedding will be like. You don’t want the invitation to look like it could be for just anyone’s wedding – it needs to truly represent you and your fiancé as a couple and the vision you have for your special day.
With that being said, working with an invitation designer to create your perfect invitations, you know, those ones that have your guests saying “wow, that is so perfectly them!” does generally cost more. This is because of the customization, attention to detail and personal service you will receive in designing your “uniquely you” invitations.
For example, the African invitation (pictured above) created for Taryn and Michel was a custom design that came out of a collaborative effort, and truly reflected the style the colour they were after.
