Wedding Advice: My bridal party is all different shapes & sizes. How can I find a look that flatters them all?

I remember when I started in the Industry and all bridesmaids were offered the same homogenous look by the bride. Pretty maids all in a row dressed alike, with hair and makeup the same. Everyone looked like carbon copies in the same really bad dress.

Nowadays, brides are choosing to break away from the "twins separated at birth look" and let their Maids express themselves for a truly happy and amazingly beautiful bridal party!

Don't worry, Brides still get their say… I wouldn't dream of suggesting otherwise! Thoughtful brides suggest a certain look, vibe, theme, colour, fabric and let each lady get a dress that matches her personality and personal style.

If that doesn't quite float your bridal boat here's another idea: matching gowns that are non-traditional! Think prints or patterns, unique details, and non-traditional styles.

Take the ladies shopping at a mall instead of a bridal shop for ideas on what's trendy and figure flattering for each girl. Choose items off the rack and then let each woman add her spin on the look by using her own jewellery, footwear, or a purse to complete the ensemble!

As for the groomsmen, the days of vests are pretty much over but custom ties are all the rage! Go for bolder patterns and colours and silk screen a personalized image on each tie. Let them express themselves with boutonnieres made of items representing them.

Here's an example: If you have a Groomsman from England you might dress him up with a boutonniere of English roses and even tea leaves! Think outside of the box for unique Groomsmen's looks that don’t make them look like a security cartel or a barrel of monkeys!

Your bridal party will thank me and you will too when you see just how incredible everyone looks on your big day, which will be forever captured in your photos!
