Ahhh the wedding cake! Such a sentimental and delectable treat that, if we’re being honest, rarely gets eaten! In recent times, couples have opted to reduce down the cakes to mini petit fours or even cupcakes in a bid to save the budget and tempt guests to sample these sweet sensations.

Personally, I’m over the cupcake, while it’s sweet for a shower the cake reigns supreme at the wedding reception for both style and substance!

Here’s a couple of suggestions for modern brides who want something that’s both tasty and trendy:

  1. Pie…yum!!! Think of flavorful pies in multiple options like chocolate custard, raspberry, classic apple, and even peach. Pie will be a hit with your guests any way you slice it.

  2. Ice Cream. Ice cream bars can be a fun surprise and sundaes with multi-topping flavor mixes offer a little bit of adventure because guests can custom create their treats!

  3. Skip Sweet & Opt For Savoury! Mini beef burgers, poutine, or even cozy homemade soup shooters are delightful for guests in the evening.

Whatever you choose make sure it’s simple, easy to eat and fun! And of course, always make it memorable.

Happy Planning and Beautiful Design,
