Tip from the Expert: How to Best Use your Photographers Time
For the month of January, SmartBride Boutique is showcasing various wedding tips from the experts. Check back daily for helpful tips and advice as you plan your wedding.
Today's tip is from DarbiG Photoraphy.
Your wedding day is important. Photography should be a priority.
Whom you choose for your wedding photographer should not be a light-hearted decision, because your photos will be how you can truly relive the greatest day of your life with your closest friends, your loving family and your best friend for life - your husband.

But you also have to give your photographer something to work with - such as personal details, a decent location and TIME.
If you want fun pictures of the wedding party, you have to make time for those photos. Here are some tips to keep in mind, when it comes to TIME.
- Establish a Timeline.
Ask your photographer for help with your timeline to fit in everything you are envisioning. - Use Sunlight.
Keep sunlight in mind if you're having an outdoor wedding. While the sun is directly overhead, it's hot for guests AND causes harsh shadows for photos. The two hours before sunset are called the "golden hours" for a reason, so try to plan for romantic images of you and your groom during this time. Even if this means your photographer must steal you away from your reception for a bit, it's worth it. - Back to Back Events.
If your photographer's coverage ends a couple of hours after the reception begins, have your "events" take place back-to-back: grand entrance, cake-cutting, blessing, dinner, toasts, cake served, specialty dances, garter belt/bouquet toss, EVERYONE DANCE!!!! This helps keep up momentum so people won't lose their itch to get jiggy with stop-and-go calls to the dance floor AND will ensure that you get photos of all the important elements. - And have fun!
