Tightwad's 5 Ways to Save on Wedding Favours

TAGS: TIGHTWAD, WEDDING FAVOURS

Wedding favours are nice, but because they are usually near the end of your list of considerations. And, in Tightwad's opinion, they can be little on the tacky side. It’s important to get the favours right, though, because they are how you thank your guests for making the effort to share in your special day.

The possibilities are endless when it comes to inexpensive — and personal! — favours for your guests. You just have to think outside the box.

Here are my top 5 inexpensive but thoughtful wedding favour ideas:

  1. Musical Memories. Why not put together a compilation of some of your favourite tunes? You could pick a theme (ie. Best songs to get you on the dance floor, or fav new artists etc) and you’ve got a personal favour that reglects you as a couple.

  2. Picture this! Get your guests little frames for photos from your wedding. This would be especially fun if you had a photobooth at your wedding. Guests could then take a picture of themselves in the photobooth and use the frame to remind them of the fun they had!

  3. Get baking. Wrap delicious homemade cookies up with a beautiful bow and a note of thanks. These are especially nice because they’re edible, so they don’t add to the clutter of sometimes useless favours.

  4. Bookworms. If you and your man love to read, and it’s well known, why not design your own bookmark with a picture of you and your new hubs, and a favourite quote. I don’t know about you, but I’m forever using random things for bookmarks, so this would be especially useful for me!

  5. Add some green. Plant a fragrant herb in a small terracotta pot and decorate with ribbon (this can be integrated into your floral budget.) These are especially popular right now, and can add some great décor touches to your wedding as well.
