You don't have to forgo the traditional wedding dress entirely for hot destination weddings... but you don't want to be a sweaty mess either! We were inspired by the bridal fashion show put on by Caribbean Bride magazine at Bride Villa Antigua 2012. With so many great options, the world is your oyster.
Here's what to keep in mind when choosing your perfect destination wedding dress:
- light, flowy materials are the coolest (obviously). Typically grecian, sheath or mermaid silhouettes works best with beach themes or warmer climates.
- extra materials like crinolines add to the whole "sauna factor" under the dress
- open backs are sexy and provide air flow, but don't forget to consider whether you can go braless, or use another solution.
