SmartBride Raises $3725 for the Canadian Women's Foundation!
On March 26, 2009, SmartBrideBoutique.ca held our first (and hopefully annual) Spring Charity event for the Canadian Women's Foundation and its Women Moving Women campaign. With $5 from every ticket sold and great silent auction and raffle prizes donated by a fabulous sponsors, we surpassed our goal and raised $3725!

With a variety of activities for our guests, from makeup touch ups and photos to brewery tours and fantastic food, the SmartBride Spring Charity event was a fun night out in support of a worthwhile cause. View photos of the SmartBride Charity event.
The vision for the Women Moving Women campaign is to gather 2500 women to each donate $2500 over five years, to move 2500 low-income women out of poverty. Our goal was to raise a minimum of $2500, which is the amount needed to move 1 woman out of poverty. Together, the campaign goal is to raise over $6 million dollars.
The number 2500 is significant because according to CWF’s research, the average cost for one woman to participate in a life-changing economic development program funded through the CWF is $2500.
The evening was great fun, and besides bidding on silent auction items and buying raffle tickets, our guests were treated to delicious chocolate shots, ginger painted salmon and a host of other delectable hors d'oeuvres from our catering sponsor Amazing Food.
From there, guests could enjoy a complimentary brewery tour hosted by the SteamWhistle Brewery, our venue partner for the evening.
Guests could also get glammed up with skin care help from Mary Kay and make up touch ups from our friends Victoria and Melisa at Beauty Markz and then head on over to the Snapshot Photobooth to strike a pose! You can see some of the Snapshot Photobooth pics!
Last but certainly not least, our event ambience was taken to a new level with "red hot" entertainment from LaRouge. The ladies swinging high in the rafters provided some extra class to our event.

Beyond all of the glitz and glam, this event would not have been possible without the generous donations from the local artists and businesses that provided the silent auction and raffle items, enabling us to raise money for an important cause. For that, a very special thanks to:
