SmartBride tip – ask the flight attendants if you can hang your dress in the little small closet reserved for flight attendants. On most short haul flights, they are not used! You'll find them between first class and economy and at the rear of the plane.
Can you imagine losing your wedding dress on the day of your wedding? This is exactly what happened to a young woman flying to Victoria. She arrived but her baggage did not and in it was her wedding dress.
The Westjet ground employee, much the same age as the distraught bride, went out of her way to find the baggage. And after some back and forth she located the luggage, unfortunately it would not arrive in Victoria in time for the evening wedding. Without missing a moment the employee sped the bride downtown and bought her a $2,280 wedding dress, paying with her own credit card, which she later claimed back from Westjet.
