Predictions: Kate Middleton's Wedding Dress

TAGS: ROYAL WEDDING, KATE MIDDLETON, WEDDING DRESS, CELEBRITY WEDDINGS

Ever since Prince William popped the question to university sweetheart Kate Middleton back in November, the world has been buzzing with the big question: what dress will Kate wear as she transitions to a Princess?

Based on the many pictures taken of her over the years, Kate has a conservative, yet elegant style. She chooses dresses that flatter her tall, slim figure with minimal details, such as a ribbon at her waist or slight ruching.

Kate Middleton Formal Style

When dressing up, Kate opts for gem-coloured sheath-like gowns with details that accent her waist.

We’ve searched SmartBrideBoutique.com and have come up with our own ideas as to what Kate will don when she marries her Prince. Based on what we’ve seen Kate dress up in, we’re leaning towards sheath-style dresses with accents around the waist, as well as glamorous, shimmering fabrics that show off her figure. If you want to imitate Kate’s classic style when it comes to your wedding, here’s our top picks:

Sheath Gowns With Accents

Kate Middleton Sheath Wedding Dresses

Left: Pronovias Goleta Diamond White V-Neck Ball Gown ($699) Center: Impression Bridal Strapless A-line ($600) Right: Anne Barge Ivory Trumpet ($2800)

These three stunning gowns each have their own beautiful characteristics, but share a common theme of simplicity with minimal detail. Although we're not sure if Kate will stick to minimalism with her Royal Wedding Dress, if she does, we like these 3 options:

The lacy Pronovias Goleta Diamond White V-Neck Ball Gown (left) has an accented empire waist and an unforgettable cathedral-length lace train. Originally priced at $2425, this dress is available on SmartBrideBoutique.com for $699.

Made of satin, with a gorgeous beaded detail at the waist, the Impression Bridal 3041 wedding gown (center) is fit for a Princess. Originally priced at $1100, this stunning gown is just $600 on SmartBrideBoutique.com. Although Kate will have to keep her shoulders covered in historical Westminster Abbey, this strapless dress can easily be worn modestly with a bolero.

Last but not least, this Anne Barge LF149 trumpet-style gown (right) is a dream with its lacy detail and beautiful neckline that will fit Kate’s elegant style perfectly. With a regular price of $5050, elegance can be yours at just $2800.

A-line Glamour

Kate Middleton Glamour Wedding Dresses

Left: Pronovias Diamante Ivory V-Neck ($800) Center: Rosa Clara Vichy V-Neck A-line ($749.95) Right: San Patrick Encanto White Sweetheart Dropped Waist ($900)

If Kate decids to up the drama (after all it is a Royal Wedding), then she might go slightly outside of her comfort zone and glam it up a bit. If she does, these three show-stopping gowns boast beautiful fabrics and skirts fit for a Royal Wedding.

The Pronovias Diamante V-Neck gown (left) is a form-fitting, A-line gown with beautiful ruching at the waist, to highlight Kate’s curves. Plus a V-Neck (rather than a strapless) allows for the modesty required at a Royal Wedding. Originally priced at $1600, you can keep all the glamour of this gown at half the price ($800!).

Sequins, pearls, and Garza organza are the defining features of the Rosa Clara Vichy gown (center) that would dazzle as a Royal wedding dress, while at the same time being classic and very Kate. As dazzling as the dress is, it is priced at $749.95, regularly $1499.95.

Although Kate favors simple, elegant silhouettes, she would be following in the footsteps of Royal brides before her by choosing the San Patrick Encanto (right), a dress with beading on the bodice to accent her waist and a magnificent flowing train. The sweetheart neckline would require a bolero to cover Kate's shoulders, which would complement the gown perfectly. Originally priced at $1650, it's now $900.
