Miracle Cure for Pimples that Spring Up Just in Time for Your Big Day!
Despite the fact that I generally come down with a major case of "the pimples" before every major occasion in my life, I was very fortunate to steer clear of any nasty last minute surprises leading up to my wedding day. To be honest, this was my biggest concern, second only to our wedding attire and rings not making it across the country with us on the plane.
Lately, I haven't been quite so lucky and have sought professional help from a dermatologist. I was lead to believe that there are no quick fixes for pimples - today, I found out otherwise. In addition to being prescribed some systemic (pills) and topical treatments to prevent breakouts, I was also offered an mini injection ($10 per injection). Before you get too scared, let me explain.
A Kenalog injection is used to drastically reduce inflammation of pimples, cysts and nodules. A steroid solution is injected directly into the trouble spot and helps to eliminate the pimple by reducing the pimple starting right away. The dermatologist will tell you (officially) that the pimple will reduce over 2-3 days, but most people say it makes a difference the very same day. Sounds pretty immediate to me!
The good part is that a dermatologist appointments are covered by healthcare, and any topical or systemic treatments they prescribe are often included in your drug plan. Preventative treatments are certainly not overnight solutions, so it's best to see about your skin at least 6 months in advance of your wedding.
