INSPIRATION: What to Wear to a Winter Wedding
Ahh those winter wonderland weddings can’t you just picture it: the vision of the bride gliding through a crisp blanket of snow, donning a heavy satin gown, a fur stole, long gloves…

Wait one moment, who is that in the background?...Someone who thought they could put tights on with a summer dress…
Omg! Is…that…you? Well if it is, please please erase that idea from your pretty little head. Your open toed sandals and flowery summer dress are not welcome here. Let me help you!
Here are two outfits you can wear to a wonderful winter wedding and the various ways to wear them:
Outfit #1: Pant Suit
Look for a suit with feminine details that emphasize the waist. Remember that shiny material = formal when it comes to clothes. Suits are not just for the office anymore, and let’s face it, who wants to shave when it is -100 degrees out? Anyone? Didn’t think so.
Jewellery is a must qhen you are wearing a suit, but you must think of ways to take it from office to evening. A really easy way to do this is to add some sparkle and a clutch. I love brooches on just about everything, but especially on an evening suit. Lastly, don’t be afraid to go crazy with your shoes. Suits are fairly conservative so your accessories don't have to be.
Outfit #2: Wool Sheath
This is a must have basic. Try to buy the top quality of what you can afford. If you have a warm complexion (i.e. a yellow undertone), try to get something in a brown or wine colour. If you have a cold complexion (i.e. a blue based complexion), black or grey is best. Having a separate LSD (i.e. a Little Sheath Dress) for warm and cold weather should set you up to be stylish year round for weddings.
I love statement necklaces with sheath dresses; change the necklace, and you change the dress. Boleros, pashminas or stoles are also great ways to add texture and colour. Go for a raw silk if you want to turn heads. If you are short waisted or just short, try a skinny belt at the smallest part of your waist. Otherwise you long waisted gals can try out something with a little bit of thickness.
And remember, when looking at tights to match, you should think about matching the tight’s material to the dress (i.e. wool tights to a wool dress).
And remember ladies, although pulling on your down feathered parka may be tempting, it is NOT appropriate for any formal situation. If you look like you don’t care the bride and groom will assume that you don’t care (ok fine maybe you don’t care, but at least pretend) Please! For fashion’s sake!
