Whether you’re looking to create a natural, dramatic, or drop-dead gorgeous look, the search for a makeup artist to create your vision can sometimes be a stressful job. That's why we asked our friends at BeautyMarkz to offer 3 options to consider:
Option 1: Freelance Makeup Artist (MUA).
This is a really popular option for a lot of brides. A freelance artist will arrive at your desired location, at your ideal time. Some MUA's also work with or are trained as hair stylists, so you and your bridal party can get yourselves beautiful all in the comfort of your own home!
In order to find your perfect MUA:
- Do your research. Do a quick Google search on MUA's in your area. This will also help you to see some of their work and read some testimonials from other brides.
- Ask around. Girlfriends, family, co-workers, recent brides and word of mouth is always a fool-proof way of narrowing your choices down.
- Look for great perks. Your makeup artist should ALWAYS provide you with a personalized touch-up kit filled with loads of goodies to keep you looking your best all day & night!
Option 2: Department Store.
Going to your fav beauty spot at your local mall is a budget friendly option for brides looking to save. If you go for this, you are usually required to pay a fixed amount that you can use towards your makeup purchases. This is a super convenient way of buying your wedding makeup essentials for touch ups throughout the day! However, mall hours are not as flexible to your needs, as they are mostly open after 9am. This might not fit your wedding day schedule.
Option 3: Hair Salon.
Ask your hair salon if they provide makeup services. If they do, they will usually offer some sort of bridal package that can help cut down on costs. This is also a great way for you and your bridesmaids to get glam together! Inquire if you can bring some champs and treats and really make it a pre-wedding party!! Another benefit of salons are that if you need to be ready at the crack of dawn they will usually open up extra early for you and your party.
