We know that getting engaged is amazing, but soon after comes the many, many details of planning a wedding! An important part of your perfect wedding are the flowers. That’s why we asked our friends at Pink Twig about the questions they get asked most frequently by Brides-to-Be to help you get your planning underway!

Q: What trends will be popular for bouquets and arrangements around the time that I will be getting married?

A: Trends come and go, but some of the classics stay around forever. The best thing to do is get magazines, check out current website, save the images you like and come prepared to walk your florist through your thoughts and ideas. Your florist should also be up to date with the current trends and will be able to walk you through what would suit the style of wedding you’re planning.

Q: How do I choose a florist that suits my style?

A: First things first! Decide on the style of wedding that YOU want and then research local websites and magazines, making note of feature florists that relate to your ideas. Find their names and book appointments. During your first appointment, never underestimate your gut feeling. Always make sure you “click” with your florist and don’t always choose the least expensive. Remember you get what you pay for.

Q: How many weddings do most florists take in a day?

A: The short answer is “it depends”. It depends on the size of the weddings. On average we will take between 3 and 5 weddings, but if one wedding is quite large than we will just take the one. If they are average size weddings (ie: 3-4 attendants and not too many centerpieces), we’ll take up to 5. Good florists will never take on more work than they can handle.

Q: Can I see samples ahead of time?

A: A good florist will always show you a sample of your centerpiece ahead of your wedding day, so that you can have an idea and more importantly, a comfort with what your flowers will look like. Your florist should have nothing to hide, plus, it eases the minds of both you and the florist because you both will be happy with the end result on the wedding day.

Q: How many times should I see my florist before the wedding day?

A: This totally and completely depends on your needs. Some brides come in twice over the course of the entire planning process where others come in 5 times! You should go in until it is perfect for you.

Q: When is my balance due?

A: 2 weeks before the wedding is standard, but every florist is different. You should ask your florist before you pay your deposit what they expect from you as a client.
