Read on for 2 simple tips you can use to help reduce the impact of your wedding.

Green Wedding Tip 1: Local Choices.
Although the brides hail from the states, they chose a Vancouver destination wedding, and once there, made local choices:

  • Local, seasonal flowers: They purchased fresh seasonal flowers from nearby Granville Island, for their bouquets and their organic wedding cake.

  • Local, consumable Favors: Attendants' gifts were handmade soaps, wine and postcards from a nearby farmer's market.

Green Wedding Tip 2: Reuse and Eliminate Waste

  • Dresses that can be worn again: The brides both chose their wedding outfits with future use in mind, and encouraged all their bridal party attendants to choose items they already owned within the color palette.

  • Waste not, want not! They creatively crafted decor details using every last bit of a supply of tulle they had. First, Alice attached it to a headband to create her veil. They tied tulle around the chairs at the venue to create elegant bows, and then used leftover scraps of the tulle to wrap the button favors and traditional Jordan almonds for their guests. When they still had some tulle left, Alice was inspired to craft tulle balls to hang at the site, a last minute idea that turned out to be one of the brides' favorite details.
