Bride-To-Be: How to Choose Your Wedding Day Wheels!

TAGS: WEDDING PLANNING, WEDDING EXPERTS, BRIDE TO BE, TRANSPORTATION

Your wedding transportation is important when it comes to making sure your day runs smoothly. It was important for me to have either a limo or a few cars to transport the wedding party to the church, then to the photo location and finally, to the reception hall.

My fiancé and I decided that we wanted some sort of SUV limo. We wanted something unique and fun that would easily accommodate both the wedding party and our parents. We didn’t look too closely into different price options, but we thought that budgeting around $500 would be safe.

Wedding Tour Bus

Imagine being chauffeured in THIS for your entire wedding day?

While we were looking into limos, a family friend told us about a recent business venture of his that he thought we may be interested in. He had purchased a tour bus (and the business) so that he could drive celebrities around on their tours. His clients include Russell Peters and the Trailer Park Boys. As a wedding gift, he offered to provide us with the bus and a driver for our wedding day!

Needless to say, we were thrilled with this gift and were happy that we didn’t have to pay roughly $2000, which he would normally charge to rent it out. The exterior of the bus is stainless steel and the interior has a seating area and bunks in the back. We’ll have access to the bus the entire day and may even be able to use it as a shuttle for guests from the ceremony to the reception, or from the reception to guests’ hotels.

This will definitely be a part of our wedding that people will remember and we are really grateful that we didn’t have to spend anything on day-of transportation.

*SmartBride Tip*: Consider your family and friends' careers and connections. Does anyone close to you work in a field that may be helpful to you on your wedding day? You’d be surprised at how many people will be willing to offer you discounted services to help make your day special. The help you need may come from somewhere completely unexpected!

About our Guest Blogger: Alicia Mason
On December 23, 2008 I got engaged to my best friend and soul mate. We set the date for September 25, 2010 and for the past year I have been sleeping and breathing everything wedding including; the venue, food, flowers, decorator, invitations, and finding the perfect dress…all on a budget!

While I didn't go crazy meeting with 10 florists and 10 decorators, I put a lot of thought into each decision and was able to find great deals along the way. I am thrilled that the SmartBride Boutique ladies have asked me to be a guest blogger in order to give you details about my wedding planning. While the planning isn't easy, it is exciting and I hope as you plan your wedding, you'll find my experiences helpful.
