Beautiful Never Worn Dresses on SmartBride Boutique
We surveyed over 500 Canadian women to see what they thought about wearing a once worn wedding dress on their big day. 75% of them said they would consider it for environmental and financial reasons - the other 25% wanted nothing to do with it. And we're ok with that! It's not for everyone. But it doesn't mean you can't save by buying a pre-owned dress that has never been worn.
You'll find many "new with tags", "never worn", "still in the bag" wedding dresses posted on SmartBrideBoutique.ca. You may be wondering to yourself... "what happened? wedding cancelled? is this dress cursed?". Relax, you'd be surprised how many brides end up with two dresses due to a change in wedding plans, elopement, venue change, and most often indecision. Below, we've featured just 8 of the many new dresses for sale. Click on the image to go directly to the dress on SmartBrideBoutique.ca.

1. Kept Shopping
This beautiful white satin gown by Jessica is offered at $400 off the retail price, has never been worn, and still sports the tags. This Smart but indecisive bride made the mistake of continuing to browse after she bought her first gown and was tempted by another. She's also including a shawl and has made an amazing arrangement for the new owner with the original store in Calgary!
Bonus: The store will exchange this dress for the same dress in your size, or potentially equivalent value towards another gown. It's basically a 40% discount!

2. The Indecisive Bride
This amazing ivory gown still has the tags attached. When our Smart Bride purchased it in May, she thought it was the one... how quickly things can change in Calgary - just like the price of oil. Her indecision = your savings!
Bonus: The dress has only ever been tried on twice and comes with satin straps that are detachable, satin sash and brooch.
3. Perfect for a Short Engagement
Originally $1500, this dress is priced for a quick sale at $500.The always flattering a-line shape and empire waist style of this dress generally requires less alterations and can be ready just in time for your upcoming Toronto area wedding. With a short train, you may not even need to splurge on a bustle.
Bonus: Built in bra eliminates the need for expensive undergarments.

4. Eloped!
How romantic! This custom dress is truly your one stop solution. The local Calgary seamstress has left 2" seams for easy alteration, and who better to fit you than the original designer/seamstress herself?
Bonus: The seller is throwing in the bustier (new with tags) which perfectly suits the stlye and neckline of the dress.

5. New Venue, New Dress
Unfortunately, this incredible dress did not suit the eventual venue for our Smart Bride's wedding. But she's got the right outlook - if she can't wear it, someone else should enjoy it. We agree, it's beautiful!
Bonus: The dress is being carefully stored at the boutique it was purchased from in Edmonton. So you can try it on during regular store hours with your mom or bridesmaids.

6. Never Removed from the Garment Bag!
This classic mermaid style dress by Private Label (Ginza Collection) is going to make you want to walk down the isle backwards. This is one of the sexiest backs we've seen yet! (See our other sexy picks) Dress was originally purchased from Ritche in Toronto.
Bonus: A beaded organza shawl is included and the cathedral style veil is also for sale.
7. All the Details at Half the Price
We all know that adding lace and delicate beading can drive up the cost of the dress. Today is your lucky day. You can admire this Casablanca gown in the window of Becker's Bridal in Toronto for $1200. The brand new, size 10 dress is posted on SmartBride Boutique for $600.
Bonus: It's 50% off. Need we say more?
8. Two-Dress Bride
She couldn't decide between two, but changing to an outdoor wedding made Dress #2 more practical. This gorgeous pure white Alfred Angelo is part of the 2009 collection and still in Montreal stores. With a lace up back and removeable padding, it will fit a wide range of sizes.
Bonus: The bodice has been shaped into a heart making this dress unique an unlike any other.
Still not convinced? Here's what an upcoming bride in Toronto had to say about being a "Two-Dress Bride":
"I wish I had a more exciting/dramatic/romantic story about how I ended up with two dresses - but the truth is, I’m simply indecisive. I think the hardest thing about deciding on THE dress (which I can confirm is WAY harder than committing to your fiance) is that it forces a bride to define herself and how she wants to look on her wedding day. Then, you add into the mix factors like the size of the wedding, your venue, your budget and just how much say your mother actually gets. I now have two gorgeous but very different dresses hanging in my closet, and I still haven't decided which one to wear for my big day. It’s a tough choice but I'm determined to have my cake and eat it too… maybe I’ll just find an excuse wear both!"
